3 WINTER ACCESSORY MUST HAVE’S

Baddie Girl Team By Posted on 0 1 m read 157 views

Winter is among us, and its now time to pull out our favorite, scarves, sweaters, and thigh high boots. Although those things are needed don’t forget these three items.

TIGHTS

They’re colorful! They’re fun! But most importantly, they’re warm! Tights can brighten any outfit, and make your look complete. They even can go with all types of prints! If you don’t want to stop at colors, you can have designs too. You can choose tights that are covered in spots, have roses on them or an animal print.

GLOVES

You have to keep those hands pretty. Winter is already rough on our skin, so be sure to moisturize your hands, and keep them in gloves when you step out. What’s so nice about gloves is that they can match your coat, your scarf, and even your outfit! Just look at these. Who would have known that gloves could have so much personality.

PURSE

I love a good purse, and I’m sure you do too! So why not continue to make a statement throughout the winter with a nice bag. You can still be colorful, but choose deeper colors, like burgundy, midnight blue or a deep brown. Check these purses out! They give style to the basic of outfits. So if you want to go all black one day, choose a purse that makes a statement.

LISTEN GIRL: IT’S TIME TO START EATING SMART

Baddie Girl Team By Posted on 0 2 m read 102 views

Lemon pepper wings (all flats), fried french fries with seasoned salt, and a sweet tea (no ice) equals one of my favorite meals. Yass LAWD! And, am I the only one who LOVES a chicken finger plate from Zaxby’s? And you can’t forget dessert! I love marble cake, with buttercream icing, it’s the best.

Pause. I’m about to loose my mind just writing this.

I know I’m not the only one who appreciates good food. But eating food like my favorites mention above will not get you in that sexy bikini this summer. It’s time for us to eat healthier, which means we have to eat smarter!

Here are a few ways you can eat smart throughout the day!

EAT SMART IN THE MORNING

Just like with most things, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But I know for me its the easiest meal to skip. The good thing is with so many different grab-and-go options, you can easily squeeze in breakfast, even if it’s a little bit later than most. You can grab a low-fat yogurt, a granola bar, fresh fruit, or all three!

  • The Baddie Way: Keep some of those easy grab-and-go options at work. This will make breakfast not seem so daunting, because even if you miss breakfast, you’ll know you have something at your desk.

EAT SMART AT LUNCH

It’s probably the easiest to get off track with lunch, and eat to your heart’s content, especially if you’ve skipped breakfast. Think about it. You’ve been thinking about food since you got to work, and your boss has been working your nerves. This will make it easier to grab the closest comfort food you can find.

  • The Baddie Way: Bring your lunch to work. Keep your options to a minimum, bring leftover spaghetti, or a turkey sandwich.

EAT SMART AT DINNER

Don’t call in a order for a pizza or Chinese takeout. Keep the salad fixings, frozen vegetables, and chicken breasts ready. You’ll always be able to make a quick meal in no time with these few items.

  • The Baddie Way:  Try to eat dinner at a reasonable time, like before 9 p.m. The earlier you eat dinner, the more likely you are to burn it off.

The best way to eat smart throughout the day is to plan. Take 10 minutes to make a weekly shopping list. The keyword is shopping list, don’t go with no list, or a half a list. Plan out what you want for the week, and make it happen!

How will you eat healthy this week?

“Corset Diet” May Not Be Good For You

Baddie Girl Team By Posted on 2 2 m read 134 views

An outdated fashion accessory is making a big return!

Corsets are getting another chance in the spotlight. Why? Because of  its reputation of weight-loss, a trend some experts say is dangerous.

Known as the “corset diet,” and used by mostly women, this diet is for those who want to get their waists smaller, shaped and snatched.

How this diet works, is you start out wearing the corset for two to four hours a day. Each week you’re supposed to add 30 minutes until you’re able to wear the corset for about 10 to 12 hours a day. 10 to 12 hours is the max time you’re supposed to wear the corset.

Although you’re wearing the corset for long periods of time, you’re not supposed to wear the corset during exercise or sleep; however, there are corsets made for working out it.

Although it seems easy doctors warn against this method of dieting. They believe that the corsets only work because they act as a non-surgical gastric bypass sleeve.

A United Kingdom company,  TheCorsetDiet.com, says that this “gentle hugging feeling” will leave you feeling fuller longer, which will lead to eating less and eventually weight loss. However, if you put on the corset too tight, it could easily bruise your body and your internal organs too.

Long-term use of a corset can bruise internal organs, such as the liver, spleen and kidneys and can damage skin. Also with wearing the corset too tight, it can cause a lack of oxygen. Oxygen helps with your metabolism, which helps every organ of your body function. Results of wearing the corset might also contribute to metabolic syndrome, which can actually result in weight gain.

But with celebrities speaking out about doing the corset diet, I can see why people are so willing to try it.  Actress Jessica Alba said that said she wore a double corset “day and night” for three months after the birth of each of her two children. She said that the diet is “sweaty, but worth it.”

With any diet there are risks, so if you do decide to do the corset diet take it slow, and don’t wear the corset too tight.

Are you doing any waist training? How do you feel about the corset diet?

Most people should aim for at least nine servings (which is about 4½ cups) of vegetables a day. Go for a variety of colors to give your body the mix of nutrients it needs. Add veggies like dark leafy greens, cooked tomatoes, and anything that’s a rich yellow, orange, or red color.
